Speech-Language Pathologist
Hi. I am the Speech-Language Pathologist for GCISD. I serve the Elementary, Middle School and High School campuses. I received my Masters of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Texas in 2000. I worked in the pediatric department at West Texas Rehabilitation Center prior to coming to GCISD in 2007. This is my 12th year with the district. I serve students ages 3-21 years of age.
Speech-language Pathologists specialize in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of communication disorders (articulation and language disorders), cognitive-communication disorders, voice disorders, fluency disorders (stuttering) and swallowing disorders. SLPs also play an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of autism spectrum disorder often with a school based team. This team often is composed of a Psychologist, Diagnostician and Speech-Language Pathologist along with other possible related service providers.
